One of my mastiffs, Dozy, passed on earlier this year and I am convinced he visits me as a black butterfly, always showing up exactly when his presence is needed. If I'm telling a story about him to a friend, a black butterfly will appear, if I'm thinking about him or missing him, a black butterfly will appear. My favorite part about this is that I have never seen black butterflies in my garden before. So now every time I see a black butterfly, I feel the presence of my sweet boy Dozy and it makes my heart smile.
